About

Hi, I’m Drew Herlocher⌗
I’m a Game Programming student at Champlain College in Burlington, VT, graduating in May 2026. I’ve always been drawn to the way games blend technology and creativity — the idea that you can write code that makes someone feel something is what got me into this field, and it’s what keeps me going.
Originally from the Upper West Side in New York City, I’ve had the opportunity to study abroad through Champlain three times! Twice in Montreal and once in Dublin, Ireland. Those experiences pushed me outside my comfort zone and gave me a much broader perspective on design, culture, and collaboration.
I’m passionate about building interactive experiences and am always looking to sharpen my skills, whether that’s diving deeper into C++ and game engine work or exploring new tools and frameworks.

Experience⌗
I bring a mix of technical knowledge and real-world, people-facing experience. As a Student Ambassador at Champlain College, I led campus tours for prospective students, tracked outreach in Salesforce, and learned how to represent something I genuinely care about. Prior to that, I worked as a barista, a print manager, and most recently as a cashier at Target, roles that built my communication, problem-solving, and composure under pressure.
